Conservation is an important part of our zoo. We have problems with it but with your help we can fix them.
Issues in Ocean Conservation:
Marine Garbage:
Climate change:
Oil pollution: Oil spills affect them more than it affects us! Species can go down at an incredible rate because of oil pollution. The animals don't know what has happened until it is too late.
Ways to Help Out and Take Action:
Reduce Waste: In the zoo and everywhere! Recycle more and reduce waste! It's really easy and we all know that we can do, we just need to start! When you're at the zoo, there will be a recycling can near any exhibit along with a trash can for the things that can't be recycled. We take volunteers who care about the animals safety from the garbage and will go around the zoo picking up trash.
Use Fewer Chemicals: By using fewer chemicals, we reduce the amount of spilt oil. Oil is a major issue and we appreciate all the help we can get to keep the habitat clean and oil free.
