So come to the Australian exhibit at Zootastic and come watch these fascinating creatures.

Echidna

Picture
Spike yourself on down to Australia where you can see Zootastic's echidnas. They are monotremes, anteater mixed with a porcupine and an armadillo. They eat ants, termites, ticks, and worms. To mate the female will send out a pheromone to attract one or many males. The female echidna will walk around to find a tree with roots coming out of the ground then she will put her feet and legs under it and just sit and wait until the males dig under her to mate. There are usually multiple males competing to mate with one female. The males will push each other out of the way until there is one left. The baby will be naked and blind when it grows out of its egg and is big enough to be the size of kid's hand. Then the baby echidna will go into its moms pouch and grows there until it has spikes. Come and see these amazing creatures.
